What we collect
When you submit a brownout report we store the ZIP code, optional locality, report type (brownout / restored), an optional short note and the time. To prevent spam we store a one-way hash derived from your IP address and browser; we do not store the raw IP address alongside reports.
Location
If you use “Use my location”, your browser shares approximate coordinates only to find the nearest ZIP code. Coordinates are not stored.
Phone numbers and email
If you add your mobile number to a comment or subscribe to email alerts, we store it privately and use it only for brownout updates for your area, with your consent. It is never shown on the website or sold. To have it deleted, contact us.
Cookies and analytics
We may use essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. Update this section to reflect the services you actually use and your obligations under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you can ask to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph). Add the name and contact details of the personal information controller here.
Retention
Reports are automatically deleted after 180 days.
